Prenuptial and cohabitation agreements
Before you get married, it can be prudent to make a prenuptial agreement, especially if you are coming into the marriage with assets or marrying for a second time. Our family solicitors would be happy to advise you on writing an agreement that protects you from any loss, should the relationship break down.
If you are moving in with your partner, we can also help by preparing a cohabitation agreement. The agreement records your intentions regarding your assets and how they are to be divided in the event of your relationship coming to an end.
Cohabitation agreements can include child maintenance as well. As your assets grow and the respective contributions of yourself and your partner change, we can help update your cohabitation agreement if necessary.
