Personal Injury
Each year, thousands of people are involved in accidents resulting in injury to themselves. This is coinciding with a dramatic change in the way in which personal injury claims are now dealt with.

Accidents can happen to anyone, anywhere at any time. Where you are not to blame for the accident and you have suffered an injury as a result, you may be entitled to compensation.

We will visit you at home or in hospital, free of charge.

Areas
We can deal with all compensation claims, but specifically:

  • Accidents at work
  • Road traffic accidents
  • Motor Insurers’ Bureau claims
  • Criminal Injuries Compensation for victims of violent crime
  • Industrial disease
  • Public and Occupiers’ liability
  • Trips and slips
Funding
There are a number of ways in which a claim can be funded and, like many firms, we offer our clients a ‘no win, no fee’ service for personal injury work. This means simply there is no charge to you whether you win or lose your case; we get paid by the person responsible for the accident. This means you can bring your claim without having to worry about having to face a huge bill if you lose.

Quite simply, you take out an insurance policy. If you win, your opponent pays the premium; if you lose, the insurance policy will pay your opponent’s legal fees and your out of pocket expenses, such as medical report and court fees.

Legal Expenses Insurance
it is also worthwhile to check before you take any steps to pursue a claim for personal injury as to whether you have a legal expenses insurance policy which will provide you with legal expense cover. Typically, you may have been sold legal expenses insurance when buying a car, home or buildings insurance. The insurance company may refer you to its own panel of solicitors. However, you do have a right to choose who represents you.

If You Have Had An Accident
If you have had an accident, you should:

  1. Take photographs of your injuries, especially
    cuts and bruises.
  2. Store in a safe place any damaged clothing or
    other items.
  3. Keep a diary of events from the day of the accident, remembering to record how you feel.
  4. Take the names and addresses of any witnesses.

The majority of our cases are settled by negotiation before commencing court proceedings, although sometimes we do have to start court proceedings, but when we do only a very few of those cases go to trial.
